Cedar Point – Sandusky, Ohio
On a peninsula in Lake Erie, Cedar Point, the second-oldest amusement park in the United States is home to six roller coasters taller than 200 feet (61 m)—more than any other park on Earth. Opened in 1870, the park now includes 365 acres (1.48 sq km) hosting a world-record 71 rides. It’s the only park to offer rides in all four roller coaster height classifications. Among the park’s 17 roller coasters, Top Thrill Dragster, which debuted in 2003, was the world’s first “strata” coaster. Towering to a height of 420 ft (130 m) and reaching speeds of 120 mph (190 km/h), it was the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster at that time.
