ICAO Annex 14 Obstacle Light Requirements

Per International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) obstacle light requirements, all structures exceeding 45 meters above ground level (AGL) must be appropriately marked with aviation warning lights or paint. The information below provides guidance on ICAO lighting recommendations per ICAO Annex 14 7th Edition.

To help clients adhere to ICAO regulations Annex 14, Flash Technology offers a suite of compliant LED aerodrome lighting products.

ICAO does not provide official recommendations for the monitoring of obstacle lighting.

Automatic monitoring of airfield lighting, including runway approach lights, is required. Please see ICAO Annex 14 Chapter 8 as well as Document 9157 ā€“ Aerodrome Design Manual Part 5 Electrical Systems (2nd edition) for specific details on airfield light monitoring.
