Portable Airfield Lights Deployed for USMC Base in Middle East
The US Marine Corps (USMC) has ordered 60 of its GI-10W dual solar-powered lighting units. These portable airfield lights will be used at a US Marine Corps base in the Middle East to illuminate distance-to-go markers placed on each side of the runway. The lights aid pilots during takeoff and landing.
Our solar-powered LED lighting technology is ideal for this type of portable airfield lighting application. On this military base, there is little or no access to reliable grid power and the ongoing fuel and maintenance costs associated with generators and the electrical grid are of primary concern.
Flash’s solar LED lighting and solar power systems are compact, turnkey and self-contained, making them easy to install and transport. They have extensively demonstrated their durability and reliability in some of the harshest climates in the world. Our GI-10W Dual solar LED lighting unit will operate reliably under the extreme desert temperatures and conditions at this particular USMC base while withstanding ongoing jet blast speeds of up to 300 miles per hour.
Flash Technology is a primary supplier of portable airfield lighting systems for international defense organizations worldwide, including US Defense, NATO and the British Royal Air Force.
