FAA L-866/L-885

An FAA L-866/L-885 is an omnidirectional dual medium intensity catenary lighting system. The L-866 is a white medium intensity beacon and the L-885 is a red low intensity light. Both colors flash at 60 fpm.

Catenary Applications

Catenary lighting systems composed of L-857, L-866 or L-885 lights must have a sequenced flashing characteristic consisting of 3 lighting levels on or near each supporting structure. One light level near the top, one near the bottom or lowest point of the catenary and one midway between the other 2 points. The flash sequence is middle, top and then bottom.
