Solar Helipad Lights Provide Quick Solution at Tallil AFB
The Tallil Air Force Base in Iraq ordered heliport lights for installation on the heliport section of its airfield. Fifty (50) of Model 702 helipad lights will be used for permanent installation along with sixty (60) units each of the corresponding mounting accessories (includes spares).
Using our optional 702 mounting plates, floor flanges and 1.5ā³ frangible couplings, the airbase ensures the new helipad landing lights are installed with breakaway capability for hovering rotorcraft. Of the total number of units ordered, 15 white lights will be used on the runway approach, 25 amber lights will be used for the helipad edge and 10 green lights will be used along the apron edge.
Our heliport lighting systems provide a fast and cost-effective solution for the lighting of permanent and expedited helipad zones. Without the need for conventional power systems, these units can be installed in minutes without disrupting incoming and outgoing medivac or tactical operations.
The heliport lights are field-proven to be reliable and durable under the harshest of environmental conditions. They are used at many of the US Air Force, Army and Marine Corps bases in the Middle East with continuing success.
