Willis Tower – Chicago, Illinois
Known as Sears Tower at its completion in 1973, Chicago’s Willis Tower held the title of world’s tallest building for nearly 25 years. With a pinnacle height of 1,482.6 ft. (451.9 m), it remains one of the three highest freestanding structures in the Americas.
With more than one million guests each year, the SkyDeck opened in the summer of 1974. On windy day, tourists can feel the building sway. On a clear day, they can see across Lake Michigan to Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. It is one of Chicago’s most popular tourist destinations.
